“Exploring the Impact of Child Abuse; Understanding Development throughout a Lifetime”

FINAL PAPER REQUIREMENTS:

This paper is a culmination of the learning this semester where you use the research items and your topic to illuminate a concept in psychology into an original paper for this class, and how the topic is applied to daily life.  Instructions are below:

Late papers are deducted 10% daily
Paper requirements:

  • Include a title page and reference page, these do not count toward page total.
  • Type it double space, Times New roman font size 12.
  • Spelling, grammar, and writing errors will be deducted from score. Use spell check, the writing lab, and or Smarthinking (found in Canvas). 
  • If you use the writing lab or Brain Fuse 25 points will be added as extra credit.  Attach the writing lab/brain fuse review after the reference pages as verification.
    • Brain Fuse.  The link is on the left side of the canvas with the others
    • This is a 25 optional points that can be earned in the final project.  Basically the project is uploaded to their site for review checking for accuracy in references etc. 
    • To access click on the Brain Fuse tab,
      • click on 3 lines in upper corner, and select

      • Then follow prompts
        • Be sure to put in Apa format, check citations, etc.  
    • Attach a copy of their report/feedback to your paper AFTER the reference pages.
    • If changes are noted do them to improve your overall grade.
  • Use the topic selected during week 1 of class as the basis for an original paper for this class.
  • Use all research items – 1 research item per chapter.    Can use either the alternative one or the regular one submitted
  • No References/research items from the text are allowed.  All should come from outside source found via the library link on our class home page.
  •  submit all work via the assignment link.  Inside the assignment link work is submitted via the turnitin.com tool.  Turnitin is a tool that scans all papers for plagiarism and provides a report.  Any paper with more than 25% use of other people’s work will be required to be fixed before grading can take place.   It is easier to write your own work, cite any sources correctly, and create the paper according to all the requirements. 
  • Cite them APA format (hint, MSWord has a tool that will do it and create the reference page)
  • 10 pages minimum not counting title and reference page.
  • The paper is worth 300 points.
  • 20 points per page (full pages – partial pages will be deducted)
  • 50 points for title page, reference page(s), and cited references in the text. 
  • 50 points for form, structure, etc. 
  • if references are not cited in the text 50-100 points will be deducted since lack of citation may indicate plagiarism. 
  • Save the paper as MSWord Doc, Adobe PDF file, or Rich text file.  Other files cannot be opened and so can’t be graded.
  • Papers submitted early may get graded early allowing for time to redo them if needed. 
  • Submit on time!   late papers receive a 10% per day penalty. After the late deadline papers can’t be graded as grades are due immediately after the class ends
  • Be sure to send along any questions.  starting early is an excellent idea since this class does go by quickly 🙂
