This assessment primarily covers the set texts of Virginia Woolf and F. Scott Fitzgerald. It will also briefly refer to the World War 1 poets and Katherine Mansfield’s Short Stories.
Your essay will be comparative. You must discuss in detail :

Explain how and why the writers represent ‘Life’ and ‘Spirit’.
You are also asked to make brief reference to any of the assigned short stories of Katherine Mansfield and any of the assigned poets/poems of the War poets to support the argument of your thesis. You need to show you have read and understood the short stories and the poets/poems. Your references to the short stories and poems need not be of great length, but enough to satisfy the assessment as a reference to the above works in relation to the theme of your thesis statement.
