The topic for this paper is how the low morale, inconsistency and lack of good leadership can affect the continous high turnover rate in my department. I have chosen to use the attached powerpoint for the reference that we needed to use from a book from this semester. My department at work which is care management at Bethesda North Hospital consistently continues to have a high turnover rate for both social workers and registered nurses. A big part of this is leadership inconsistency and lack of appreciation that we feel as team members. Hourly pay for the social workers is lower than the registered nurses and we all do the same thing. Our management continues to score low in our within the trihealth pulse suurveys which is where we basically rate our leadership. Staff is starting to get burnout due to increased caseloads per person staff continue to leave.
