focuses on how the American economy of the 1920s changed American politics and society.

  1. On page 657, what examples does the chapter provide that explains the strengths and weaknesses of the American economy of the 1920s? Give at least four examples.
  2. On pages 657-660, what examples does the book provide that demonstrates what was new and unique about the consumer culture of the 1920? Give at least four examples.
  3. On pages 660-662, what examples does the book gives the warning signs of the “coming of the Great Depression”? Give at least four examples.
  4. Finally, did you learn anything from the chapter? Was there anything important that you discovered?

When answering these questions, please write approximately 3-4 pages, double-space, and in full paragraphs. Don’t just copy and paste the information from the book. Try to summarize your examples in your own words as best you can.

As you answer the questions make sure to cite the pages from the book. Avoid using too many quotes in your paper. You don’t need a Works Cited page when citing from the book, just make sure to cite the specific page numbers in the MLA style. Points will be deducted if the pages are not cited. If you are planning to use AI, or some sort of internet source for your paper, or you copied someone else’s paper or if your paper is so incoherent that it doesn’t make any sense then you will receive no credit.

Again, avoid throwing in a bunch of quotes. Try to explain things in your own words, but make sure to cite the page numbers to show where you got the information from.
