Freelance Comedy Writer Needed to Rewrite Script for a 30-Second Social Media Advert

Scope of Work:

We are seeking an experienced comedy writer to help us refine and rewrite a comedic script for a 30-second social media advert promoting a travel-related service. The advert highlights the stress of not being able to use your phone abroad due to high roaming fees and presents a simple solution to this problem.

You will be provided with the existing concept, example script segment, and client feedback. Your task will be to rewrite the script, incorporating the client’s feedback while ensuring it is funny, relatable, and focused on appealing to the UK market.

Project Length:

This is a small project with the scope to be multiple jobs every month if the client is happy with the script.

Background:

We are particularly interested in writers with experience in creating short, punchy, and humorous scripts for social media campaigns, especially those targeting the UK market. Experience working with well-known British comedians or understanding the British comedic sensibility is a plus.

Comedy Writer Job Responsibilities:

– Review the provided concept and script, along with client feedback (we will provide all of this to chosen freelancers).
– Rewrite the script to align with client expectations, ensuring it remains humorous, relatable, and avoids stereotypes.
– Consider the involvement of a well-known British comedian in the script (we will provide suggestions)
– Finalise the script to a high standard we & the client are happy with.

Comedy Writer Job Requirements and Qualifications:

– Minimum 2 years of experience as a comedy writer for social media, commercials, or related content.
– Proven ability to write humour that resonates with the UK audience.
– Ability to creatively integrate feedback into a script while maintaining its comedic integrity.
– Experience working with or writing for British comedians is highly desirable.
– Portfolio demonstrating previous work in similar projects.

Timeline:

– We need this completed ASAP, but no later than Friday 23rd August 2024.
