SLO 3: Examine Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) including analyzing results, interpreting information, and reporting findings to stakeholders

- Review and engage in the activities and discussions to prepare to plan and carry out the SLO, including:
- Complete your chosen SLO artifact and SLO Artifact TemplateLinks to an external site.. Include the link to your SLO artifact in the Artifact section of the SLO Artifact Template, as applicable (see details below). For each SLO artifact assignment submission, you will upload your completed Artifact Template document.
- If your chosen artifact is a file, such as a Docx or PDF, you will link your artifact to the Artifact Template document and then upload your completed Artifact Template document and your artifact file.
- If your chosen artifact is another type of file or URL, you will link your artifact on the Artifact Template document and then upload your completed Artifact Template document only.
- For video-based artifacts of classroom settings with K-12 students present, please do not link your video artifact to your copy of the Artifact Template document, as you will upload your video securely to the tool, GoReact.
- For all other videos in which K-12 students are not present, please link your video artifact to your copy of the Artifact Template document. You can review the Video Support page for ideas on how to do video recordings.

Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is for you to engage in the foundational and supplemental resources and share and collaborate with your peers. It will also help you prepare for planning and carrying out your chosen artifact for the Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) SLO in your classroom placement.
Preparation Post
Step 1: Review the following options and select one.
- Explore how FBA/BIPs are used to target and address specific behavioral needs. Read Foundational and/or Supplemental articles and write a 300 word summary of what you have learned in a journal.
- Interview a behavior specialist or school psychologist. Reflect on how the FBA/BIPs support students socially, emotionally, and academically. Compose questions in advance. Record the interview or take notes. Write a 300 word summary of your conversation or the video of your interview.

Develop questions you may have OR create ways of explaining the key ideas of FBA/BIPs to family, peers, and/or administrators. Write a 300 word summary of what you learned from exploring the website.
