Master’s thesis for the purpose of optimizing geometric characteristics of aluminum profiles. Taguchi and ANOVA methodology to analyze data and results.
In the process of extrusion we have 5 factors and 2 interactions between them in two levels (Taguchi array L8 2`5), and we examine the results that these settings `recipes’ give us (for 3 repetitions) for 4 different dimensional characteristics which concern cross section aluminum profile. Then, based on the results, we analyze the weight that each of the 7 inputs has on the results and on the deviations from the nominal values.
What interests us is to find the ideal `recipe’ so that the characteristics we examine – after verification tests – will show the smallest deviations from the nominal. It is experimental, the experiments have been completed, as well as the statistical analysis through Minitab (Taguchi and ANOVA), essentially the writing remains. Diplomacy will be in English. Include writing a short paper.
