Guideline/Checklist for Midterm Outline
After choosing a topic listed on page 7 of the course outline or your own art-themed topic, you will create an outline for the final paper. Follow the guidelines and use this as a checklist. The rubric for this project will be within the assignment on Blackboard. A copy of the rubric will be sent to you in a separate email. Please read “How to write a successful Art History paper” on Blackboard before you get started.
Guidelines/Checklist
Title of Paper: subtitle (if you have one)
Introduction/Abstract:
Give a general introduction to why you are presenting this project. Briefly discuss what. interests you about this project. Why do we need to know this subject? What is important? What are the methods of research are you using? End the introduction with the thesis sentence or question.
What you hope we should gain from your topic.
Body: Topic heading 1

2) Other points within this heading—This section can be bullet points

You can have many more topic headings beyond two. Repeat the same steps in each topic.
Conclusion- Sum up everything presented; tie-up with a statement confirming your original research question.
Bibliography: follow MLA format. If you are more familiar with APA, please feel free to use it, but be consistent in style. For the bibliographical content, consult museum website databases, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Met Publications and the Heilmann. Timeline for art subjects. For contemporary and Modern Art, use the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) website. Click on “Explore” for artists and artworks.
Additionally, use the BCC library databases. Look for JSTOR, which is the database for most scholarly journals.
