Assignment Introduction:
You have been asked by senior leadership to create a small workgroup composed of various staff to address a health disparity that is happening in your office using the PDSA cycle. (It can be any health care setting.)
Assignment Directions:
You will describe the health disparity you are seeking to address and the population that is most impacted. You will then create a plan that addresses the health disparity you are seeking to address, discusses the team members you will include in the PDSA cycle, and describes each step of the PDSA cycle.
In completing the Study section, you will need to be creative about what you may discover during this step in the cycle.
Assignment Details
Choose a health disparity that is relevant to your chosen health care setting and address the following:
- Provide the background information on the health disparity and the patient population impacted.
- Address the need — what the impact of the disparity is and why improvement is needed.
- Discuss the staff you feel would be important to include in this work group.
- Describe the PDSA cycle for your project. You will need to be creative in describing the “Study” section of the cycle; this will include what you expect to see in this phase of the cycle.
- Make recommendations on next steps of the project.
