First paragraph – explains/compares character one

Second paragraph – explains/compares character two


Topic Format – Paragraph break down (sentence by sentence)

  • Topic sentence:  (The main idea of the first trait between the characters that you will be comparing/contrasting).

  • Introduce how the character trait applies to Character One (Hamlet in this example)

  • Provide a quotation from the text that supports and exemplifies the character exhibiting this trait. 

  • Explain the quotation and how it applies to your argument.
