centuries, exploring at least FOUR of the following themes or events:
1) American Slavery, 2) the Trail of Tears (1838), 3) Homestead Act
& Morrill Act (1862), 4) The Mexican-American War (1846-8) or 5) the
Spanish-American War (1898) and the U.S. possession of colonies in
Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines.
3) What were some of the ways U.S. officials, opponents to
immigration, and/or nativists excluded Mexicans and Asians from U.S.
citizenship from 1848 to the 1930s? [The response must explain the
immigration restriction acts, the Workingmen’s Party in CA, the Chinese
Driving Out Campaigns, and Mexican Repatriation].
