    1. Ancient Period (prehistory – 1000 C.E.)
    2. Middle Ages (1000 – 1300 C.E.)
    3. Renaissance (1300 – 1500 C.E.)
    4. Reformation/Scientific Revolution (1500 – 1700 C.E.)

    6. 19th and early 20th century (1800 – 1940 C.E.)

    1. Understands the development of the diagnosis
    2. Explains the symptoms of the diagnosis
    3. Treats the diagnosis
    4. This section should include an introductory slide presenting an overview of the perspective including
      1. its development, including earlier philosophies/theories/ideas that contributed/influenced it
      2. key ideas
      3. key figures.
    5. Evaluate the effectiveness of the theoretical orientation
  3. Discuss the disorder from a Christian perspective
The project should include a thorough critical analysis, which will discuss how the view of the diagnosis reflects the worldview/mindset of the various historical periods covered.
  • The project should utilize:
    •  At least 6 peer-reviewed, academic journals
    • of which least one is a primary source contemporary to the topic (e.g., translation of Aristotle’s On the Soul).
    • The required peer-reviewed sources are in addition to assigned readings for the class, and students should note that most well-written papers will likely utilize more than the minimum number of references. Students may find it particularly helpful to refer to the optional reading list on the syllabus.
    • NO websites are allowed and papers using websites (e.g. verywell mind, wikipedia, etc.) will be marked down.
The project must consist of at least 16 informational slides (Title page, subheading heading pages, and reference page do not count toward this number). It must also be visually appealing through the use of appropriate/easy-to-read fonts, backgrounds, and the inclusion of content-enhancing illustrations/graphic (i.e., these are used to support the written content and do not replace explanations/discussions). The project must adhere to 7th edition APA guidelines, including citations for all factual information and reference page.
Students should use the attached PowerPoint template to guide the project. The template provides an overview and additional details of the assignment requirements so it should be reviewed carefully, but changes to the design, wording, titles, and so on should be made. Additionally, the assignment rubric provides more details regarding expectations and grading criteria.
