The
purpose of the project is to act as transnational sociological educators,
bringing necessary informational practices to the class. Students must examine their
personal and professional stances and philosophies, as well as how they relate
to their role in the healthcare system. The project may include information on healthcare attitudes, treatments,
philosophies, responses, grief customs, etc. specific to a culture or the topic
you have chosen. An outline of your paper may look
like this:
I A brief background of your
topic (issue)
II How your topic (issue) is
viewed by at least two of the four sociological perspectives:
A.
Functionalist
B.
Conflict
C.
Feminist
D.
Symbolic Interactionist
III How does your understanding
of the topic (issue) affect your ability to deliver patient/nursing care.
IV How does the general public
(non-medical persons) view your topic/issue differently than you? (a trained
professional)
V Since doing your research on
this topic/issue have your ideas or perspective been changed in any way? Positive/Negative? Might you use anything youโve learned about
this topic in your daily practice?
VI Conclusion
