Write 5-6 (individual) or 7-9 (collaborative – no more than 2 students) double-spaced literature review essay. You must include the revised reference list at the end of your paper. Include the sources that you cite in your paper. Your reference list does not count as part of the page requirements. Individual projects must discuss a minimum of 5 peer reviewed journal articles and cite 2 additional sources. Collaborative essays must discuss a minimum of 7 peer reviewed journal articles and cite at least 3 additional sources. See writing and formatting instructions in the syllabus. Note, collaborative essays must read as a unified team effort. Additive projects will not work for this project. Do not exceed page limitations. See paper rubric.
Your paper must have an introduction (revised topic paper) that situates yourself in the paper (why is this topic of interest to you?). It must have an argument (why is this topic/problem important for the study of communication?) why is your selected theory the best way to examine your topic (revised theory paper). It must also have a preview of the research themes and theory we can expect to read in the body of your paper.
The body of your paper will discuss the themes/categories you identified (in the body of your outline) across the research articles you read. You will synthesize this information into a research question. Identify the theory that is the best lens to understand your RQ.
