How does explicit instruction of phonemic awareness impact overall reading achievement in kindergarten

This assignment is for my masters class. This will also be used for my research paper that I will have to write later.

The literature review provides an overview of the topics related to this study and discusses any existing research that comprehensively addresses the problem of practice and research question for your action research. The summary of these topics should provide excellent, thorough background and rationale for the research question and context. It should analyze and synthesize strengths and weaknesses of current research through at least three high-quality, peer-reviewed studies and other sources that are recent (within ten years), credible, valid, and reliable. If you reference literature that is older than ten years, provide an additional, more recent research study in your discussion. In the literature review, especially, and throughout the paper as a whole, be sure to correctly document and cite sources following APA format guidelines. All information in this section should be factual and objective; do not provide commentary from your point of view. Anything cited and discussed in this section should have a clear relationship to the research question. You can paraphrase a specific idea from another work, and you can make reference to the author and year of publication, but it is also helpful to provide the page number and paragraph number. You can also use summary citations, with parenthesis and the author’s last name + year of publication. All sources must be cited on your references page. Be sure to provide a complete and top-notch analysis and summary of the relevant points found in the existing literature that are clearly linked to the intention and reason for the study. In the Literature Review section, the educator demonstrates awareness of relevant scholarship by discussing previous literature they have found that supports their study. In reviewing former studies, the educator should describe information that is pertinent to the topic of your study as that will assist the reader in understanding why the current study is being conducted. The literature review defines the issue more clearly by setting the problem within a wider professional context. You will explore the topic and existing research to determine if other authors share your assumptions, and if they have evidence you can use. You will be looking at ways other research tackled and problem and learning about their outcomes, then using this information to determine how you might adjust based on their findings with conducting your action research. Be sure to structure the evidence in a logical, orderly manner. It should not be organized by listing findings from each article, but by creating sections that flow logically and build on the case for your approach. This section is NOT about sharing your ideas and opinions, but rather gathering the ideas of others and clearly presenting them. Some questions to guide your writing in the literature review are as follows: Are all authors in agreement about the nature of the problem or do they pick out differences and nuances you need to consider? You can use headings to group the literature review into sections based on topic, theme, dimensions, etc. A possible outline or framework for the Literature review would be to provide a high-level summary of the study or topic where you describe the problem and then synthesize what other researchers have said about the topic. Discuss important terminology, themes, outcomes, approaches, instructional methods, evidence, etc. about the topic. Describe any assumptions or theories that were asserted in the research and any specific learning, models, approaches, etc. that underlie the problem or came from the research. Relate the literature review in this section to the broader context of the problem and your action research. Share with the reader what you have learned about the topic from examining existing research. Ensure all sources are also referenced in the References section of this paper. Don’t forget to follow APA guidelines for how to cite your sources.
