Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for helping me with my thesis. You will be answering the following sub-questions, which have been approved by my supervisor:
- How does the European legal system integrate environmental protection within the human rights framework?
- In what way does gender play a role in the recognition of climate-related human rights? In particular, in the case of KlimaSeniorinnen.
- Which gender-related consequences of climate change are acknowledged by the Court in this judgment?
Perhaps the chapters could be structured as follows:
Chapter 2: How does the European legal system integrate environmental protection within the human rights framework?
In this chapter, I will look at the ECHR, the ECtHR, relevant protocols, and case law β for example, the Urgenda case.
Chapter 3: In what way does gender play a role in the recognition of climate-related human rights?
This will involve a close analysis of the judgment itself.
Chapter 4: Which gender-related consequences of climate change are acknowledged by the Court in this judgment?
Again, this will be based on a detailed reading of the decision.
Tentative structure:
- A brief summary and introduction
- Sub-question 1: How does the European legal system integrate environmental protection within the human rights framework?
- Sub-question 2: In what way does gender play a role in the recognition of climate-related human rights?
- Sub-question 3: Which gender-related consequences of climate change are acknowledged by the Court in this judgment?
- Results
- Conclusion
I have also already compiled a bibliography, including the following sources:

(Verein KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz and others v. Switzerland) - The Hague Court of Appeal, 9 October 2018, ECLI:NL:GHDHA:2018:2591
