To prepare the paper:
On the basis of your current knowledge-honed by reading and research- identify real and possible stakeholders for your chosen group topic.
Applying the lessons from class identify the types of stakeholders (organizational, community, policy / formal or informal), fill out at least one row of the chart with your team.
Choose 3-5 types of stakeholders at different levels.
Research them intensively online (look at their web site, position papers, about us/ mission/vision statements)
Reflect, then write your paper
Things to include and answer in your paper:
-Introduction to your group topic (summary)
–Describe your strategy to successfully implement your potential program on the health issue you have been working on this semester – how are you using stakeholders to meet your goals? How will you engage these and other potential stakeholders in coalitions and partnerships? In what moment of the process would you include them (understanding, designing, implementing, evaluating)?
-Discuss the differences between coalitions and partnerships and which you will be using in your project (i.e., are you going to build a coalition to tackle your health issue? Are you going to develop several independent strategic partnerships to create a successful intervention for your health issue?)
-Describe in detail 3-5 stakeholders (try as much as possible to not repeat stakeholders) , include their perspectives and motivations. How do you class each in the stakeholder matrix and why? How do stakeholder mission/vision/objectives overlap with yours?
-Discuss how the stakeholders you have chosen through engagement via coalitions and/or partnerships can influence your health issue.
