Mary Wollstonecraft- A Vindication of The Rights of a Woman(1972)
W.E.B Du Bois- The Souls of Black Folk (1903)
Thesis
Although “A vindication of the rights of woman” (1792) is considered to be the first feminist manifesto, Mary Wollstonecraft lacks an intersectionality of race and gender in her writing. She focuses primarily on the struggles of white, European women. While in “The Souls of Black Folk” (1903),though it is not a feminist manifesto in any way, Du Bois expands his writing to include the struggles that black peopleface as well. They both argue that education is the key to liberation but write on different subgroups of people. Though in different eras, if there writing is to be combined you would have the perfect argument on how liberty and equality in basically impossible without equal education rights, and how currently the world caters and is centered around white males.

I would like to have it include a rundown of both authors perspective on how education can contribute to eqaulity as well before comparing them and pointing out how education is basically set up to achieve success for white males. I think it would be good to show how it has changed over the years to become more “progressive” but there is still sexism instilled in school curriculums!
