This a group assignment

The group spokesperson will post their groups’ written paragraphs with references regarding the: INCIDENCE, PREVALENCE AND SIGNIFICANCE of the clinical problem selected by the group as well as the how the data based was searched. It should identify the research articles selected by the group to be appraised as evidence.

This is to show wich diretion the paper is going:

Evidence-Based Research Practice Project Topic: Telehealth Interventions in Elderly Adults with Chronic Conditions

Case Study:

Patient is a 73 year old male with a history of arthritis and past cerebrovascular accident, leaving moderate weakness on the left side of the body. Since the CVA the patient has not been able to drive to his appointments, and instead tries to coordinate with his daughter’s schedule. Recently, he noticed he is running low on his arthritis medication but does not have anyone to drive him to the doctor’s office due to his daughter being out of town. The doctor’s assistant offered the patient a voice call as an alternative to an in-person visit, in which he will be able to update the physician about any worsening symptoms and his need for another prescription refill.

Pico Question:

In geriatric patients with chronic diseases (P), do telehealth interventions (I) compared to in-person visits (C) improve disease control and patient satisfaction (O)?

Discussion:

Although there have been some concerns regarding the quality of interaction compared to in-person visits, telehealth can provide adequate access to care. In this research study, we aim to evaluate how telehealth can improve disease control in the geriatric population compared to in-person visits. This specific group’s challenges include technology usage and patient preferences. Those are significant factors that can influence patient satisfaction. However, the elderly population struggling with multiple health conditions, known as comorbidities, might find it hard to get to in-person appointments. Telehealth interventions, either through video or voice-only calls, can help reduce the number of missed appointments and eliminate non-emergency visits to a physician’s office. Additionally, telehealth initiatives can increase the opportunity to coordinate care, reconcile medications, provide real-time monitoring, reduce caregiver burden, and educate patients on taking care of themselves.

The part I am responsible for is the Prevalence part

So basically the research will be about the prevalence  In geriatric patients with chronic diseases, do telehealth interventions compared to in-person visits improve disease control and patient satisfaction.

The article use must be a QUALITATIVE study no older then 5 years
