Essays should be between 8-10 pages in length (excluding footnotes and bibliography), double-spaced, 1” margins, using 12 point Times New Roman font, include page numbers (bottom-center), and use footnote citations.

Your essay should incorporate at least ONE primary source and at least FOUR secondary sources (book sections, academic articles, scholarly papers). All sources must be scholarly and relevant to the research question. You may consult Wikipedia, Britannica, etc. (i.e. tertiary sources) for initial information and research, but these may not be counted toward your total sources. You may use Calloway’s First Peoples as a secondary source.
