PLEASE READ THIS NOTE AND LOOK AT DOWNLOADS AND FIX WHAT I HAVE DONE AND I NEED ONE THEME FOR THIS ALL!!!!!
Roderick, the goal of this assignment was to continue building the unit plan you started in week 3. You identified a theme – The history of VA: stories of influence and contributions for 1st grade, but these 4 lessons are for kindergarten and are not connected to any theme. The theme you proposed in week 3 needs to be reflected in every lesson plan you build. Each of your lessons were stand alone lessons which resulted in a low grade. As you move forward with the rest of the lesson plans make sure to stay focused on your unit theme. Also, when writing lesson plans as a student is much different than writing lesson plans as a teacher. In these templates (based on the requirements for the EdTPA), you have to provide enough information that a substitute teacher should take these plans and teach your lesson without any additional helps. As such, you have to provide lots of details and specifics. In your instructional section, you need to give bullet points that walk the reader through the lesson plan. First I will do this…, then I will say this…, I will ask this question…, I am looking for this answer… I am attaching an example that should help with the instruction portion. Similarly, when differentiating and assessing, you have to deal in specifics. Don’t use general statements like “provide simplified texts”, you need to discuss what texts you would use with regular students and students with special needs – do they cover the same material, etc… late (-10%)
