You are teaching a new on-line course in Canvas LMS, entitled Interprofessional Collaborative Practice for Nurses and Health Care Professionals (an undergraduate and graduate course at FIU – NWCNHS. Some of the health care disciplines in the course are: RN and APRNs, Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD), and Athletic Trainers (AT) as part of your new faculty assignment.
Discuss at least 2 technologically enhanced teaching-learning activities you will include in a learning module which can be used for either individual or groups of on-line student learners, that ultimately will demonstrate competency in the interprofessional education specific to domain given below. (This is a “real world” situation; you are responsible for only one competency)
There are 4 domains to be taught in the interprofessional course the course will be using IPEC (2011), Interprofessional Education Collaborative Expert Panel competencies, you are only responsible for the development of one of the four competency domains for this course.
Domain 1: Values/Ethics for Interprofessional Practice Competency
Domain 2: Specific Roles and Responsibility Competency
Domain 3: Specific Interprofessional Communication Competency
Domain 4: Specific Team and Teamwork Competencies
(Please see the competencies in document attached and their components starting in page 16; you do not have to meet all the components in the specific competency domain in your teaching-learning activities).
The on-line teaching-learning activities you will be developing needs to adhere to the following guidelines:
- List which components of the competency domain assigned to you will be met with the activities you have chosen (from document provided).
- Teaching-learning activity will be asynchronous and on-line
- The teaching-learning activity must not take more than 2 hours to complete.
- The learning module could be open for up to 2 weeks.
- Provide details of technological activities you have chosen to teach competency: for example 1) YouTube video’s specific title, link to video, and with learner directed activities related to competency (what you expect students to do); and 2) Provide specific directions for any blog, wiki or discussion board forum questions/debates activities. Think of how I set up our weekly modules for this course. Show how you would set up a module of activities to teach your competency and include your technological activity in the module. *Be unique from other colleague’s in your competency
See Discussion Rubric and follow the guidelines.
