This paper explores different legal interpretations of intersectionality, specifically as they pertain to the evolving complexities surrounding gender-based violence (GBV). In this sense, emphasis is given to landmark rulings such as Vicky Hernández v. Honduras, Baylis-Flannery v. DeWilde, and ECHR’s B.S. v. Spain, revealing a variety of regional approaches to intersectionality in judicial practice. These cases facilitate an analysis of the intersections of gender and race, gender identity, and legal and professional status. Additionally, the paper examines Mexico’s recent legislation Ley Paola Buenrostro. Results point to the emergence of legal efforts to address intersectional discrimination afflicting GBV victims.
