Evidence-based management essay: General information
Your manager has asked you a question (the topic) about leadership. You need to answer it using the principles of evidence-based management. To do this, you need to collect good quality evidence (i.e., research from high-quality research journals) and build an argument. Given that not all evidence is equally trustworthy (e.g., when it comes to seeking health advice, you would trust a medical doctor more so than advice from your mechanic ) you need to take a critical approach.
Assignment:
- Understanding theory – essay outlining evidence to answer a question.
- 1500 words maximum (no 10% leeway above this maximum).
- Choose from one of three questions: I choose no. 1
1) Is it more important to hire a leader with high cognitive ability or high emotional intelligence?2) Is it more important for leaders to be task-focused or relationships-focused?3) Is it more important to adopt a shared or non-shared leadership structure?
