Hello, I have a research paper that is around 5,000 words. It seeks to explore whether there is a negative correlation between viewing amounts of time spent viewing culturally related TikTok content and self-esteem levels in the population of male teenagers in Al Ain. I used a survey as my method (quantitative method). It had questions including age, amounts of time spent using TikTok, amounts spent viewing cultural content on TikTok, and a way to measure self-esteem levels. The question measuring time spent viewing cultural content was coded on a 5-point scale, with these options: 5 = Very Often (Daily), 4 = Often (Several times a week), 3 = Sometimes (A few times a month), 2 = Rarely (Once a month or less), 1 = Never. The question measuring self-esteem levels used the 10 Rosenberg self esteem scale statements. These statements include “When viewing culturally related content on TikTok,
I feel that I am a person of worth, at least on an equal plane with others.
” The respondents were asked to choose an option in the likert scale from the ranges strongly agree to strongly disagree. The options were converted to quantitative data: 5 = strongly agree, 4 = agree, 3 = neutral, 2 = disagree, 1 = strongly disagree. 5 of the 10 statements were negatively worded and thus were reversed scored (eg. I” feel I do not have much to be proud of”). This way, consistency was maintained in the direction of higher scores indicating higher self-esteem.I then calculated pearson’s r correlation coefficient in the sample I received, then performed pearson’s r test to see if the result is statistically significant. After analyzing the results, I concluded that there was a statistically significant negative correlation between self-esteem levels and time spent viewing cultural content on TikTok in the population of male teenagers in Al Ain.There are two main problems with the research paper. The first is a lot of it is AI written, so I would like most of it to be re-written, but I want the info stated in the paper to be kept. The second problem is that the paper only used surveys as the method for data collection. AP readers tend to score papers that only use surveys low, so I would like to use mixed methods for my research paper. The type of method the survey was quantitative. I want to add another method (qualitative method) for data collection. I would like this extra method not to interfere with my research question too much so not the whole idea of the research paper is rebranded. I don’t know which method would be best (whether its interviews or something else). Also keep in mind that adding another method you would have to modify the literature review, not just the methodology and results. I also want the research paper to be absolutely no longer than 5,500 words (readers stop reading after 5,500 words), with 5,000 words recommended. It is currently around 5,300. I attached screenshots of the survey data, a word document of the draft I currently have for the paper, a checklist for the methodology, and a scoring rubric for the whole paper. Thanks
