Journal Entry based on a reading directly related to Political Science that you are able to find in a peer-reviewed journal.

The paper should be in Times New Roman size-12 font, have 1” margins, and be double-spaced. Read the article and write a 600–750-word summary analyzing the article you read. This should be anywhere between two and half to three pages long, should list the APA citation of the article first, and then analyze the article. Please remember to simply avoid summarizing! Make sure to discuss your author’s main argument and whether you agree or disagree. This is your chance to choose ANYTHING related to Political Science so pick something that is of interest to you and have fun with it. This assignment is designed to:
  • Help you practice writing on a longer scale than just small discussion posts.
  • Help you learn to navigate the online library at ETSU. This will be an important and integral part of going forward: no matter what subject you major in! The library is your friend and learning to find information is a lifelong skill.

  • Allow you to practice APA formatting, also a helpful skill in college and beyond.

  • Get you to branch out from just “reading the book” because there is so MUCH information out there, so many opinions, and so many ways of discussing one topic.

  • Help you to get better at reading, analyzing, and integrating material. It is one thing to read something, but it is something different to read something and then USE what you have read to support your ideas. Analyzing what we have read helps with deeper research.

Please make sure to follow APA with the writing, but most of all, have fun and choose an interesting topic. Here is a link that offers a list of journals.
