………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. 1. I ALSO NEED 3 RESPONSES TO MY CLASSMATE’S DISCUSSION ONCE IT’S POSTED.
Begin by completing the Module 2 Presentation Part I. Next, review the scope of the team project and read the articles below:
- Dunn, E.W., Aknin, L.B, and Norton. M.I. (February 2014). Prosocial spending and happiness: Using money to benefit others pays off.Links to an external site. Current Directions in Psychological Science 23(1): 41–47.

Initial Post (Due Wednesday)
You will be working with a team of about five students throughout this course. Your instructor will assign the team. If needed, please read How to Access Your Team Discussion Area.
Address the prompts below in your introductory post to your teammates.
Your first post in this discussion should be made early in the week, Wednesday night at the latest. You should also be responding to and engaging with your teammates’ posts throughout the week so you can get to know them and what they value.
- Begin by introducing yourself to your team. Who are you? What makes you who you are? Think of 2-3 key values, beliefs, and experiences that have shaped who you are and your worldview.
- What did you think of the Dunn, Aknin, and Norton (2014) article’s argument about pro-social spending? If you were given $20 to spend on someone else, what would you spend it on and why? How might that change if you were given $10,000 to spend on someone else and why? Should the happiness of the giver matter when thinking about charity?
Follow-up Post (Due Friday)
By Friday night, read the Heffernan article above and make a second discussion post on the prompts below:
- Discuss how your individual strengths can be used to help the team: What are you good at and why? How can you best help the team achieve its goal?
- Discuss how you will assure accountability for your team. How will you divide the upcoming work equitably, so the burden does not fall only on 1 or 2 individuals? How will you increase social capitalLinks to an external site. and prevent social loafing?Links to an external site.
- If you disagree on an idea or approach, how will you come to an agreeable resolution?
