Linguistic Hegemony of English Language in the Medical Context of Four Hospitals in Asir Region

I am a PhD candidate in the field of Applied Linguistics. I need your help to rewrite the introduction chapter of my PhD dissertation. The reason is that I need the chapter to be plagiarism-free and artificial intelligence usage free. Therefore, I need an originality report to be submitted with the delivered work in which the artificial intelligence percentage usage is zero as well as the similarity index has been reduced below 4%. Besides, I will upload the originality report that indicates the similarity percentage of the work before you rewrite it so that you will know the areas that need to be revised.

1. Cohesion should be maintained. So, please use cohesive devices to link sentences together.

2. Coherence should be maintained as well to ensure the logical flow of ideas. 

3. Write a topic sentence at the beginning of each paragraph and make sure that each paragraph contains a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence.

4. Write small paragraphs, please! As my supervisor said don’t write long paragraphs.

5. In your writing, make sure that you move from general to specific! That is from hegemony in general to linguistic hegemony to English hegemony to language barrier in the medical field in other countries to language barrier in the Saudi medical context. The gap and the research problem that the current study attempts to fill is that the dominance of English language use in the Saudi medical context causes a language barrier between patients and healthcare practitioners as most healthcare practitioners in the Saudi medical field are foreign expatriates and Arabic is the official language in the country. So, the dominance of English language use in the Saudi medical field causes a language barrier between the two groups. Although different studies address the issue of language barrier in the medical field, to the best of the researcher’s knowledge, there is a knowledge gap regarding how English language use may directly or indirectly cause a barrier in the Saudi medical context between patients and healthcare practitioners.

6. Please don’t change the research questions, revise the research objectives but don’t change the meaning. As for the research hypothesis, it will only be related to the first research question since it is the only question that will be measured quantitatively! So, the research hypothesis in the attached version is correct but I need it to be rewritten more academically!

7. Rewrite the whole paper according to the APA style 7th edition.
