Literature Review Assignment: How does the portrayal of crime in television news influence public fear of crime and support for punitive criminal justice policies?

First, the literature review would begin with an introduction. In the introduction you need to explain why the research question is an important area for research.  Then, you will be outlining what you have found in THREE scholarly research studies. Remember that these studies must be linked (as closely as possible) to the research question.  You could use a similar format for describing each study. First, indicate what the research question or questions were in that study.  Provide a few details about the sample characteristics (e.g. who participated in the study?), and the methods used (survey? observation in the field). Then you should explain what the key findings were in the study (for example if your research question is exploring sources of police stress then you should be telling me what the study found out about sources of stress).  Lastly you might explain what the limitation of the study were (typically you will find that the researcher will discuss limitations in the discussion section of the study.  Once you review what you found in your literature review, you will end with a conclusion.
