Overview
Marketing and sales are key factors in a start-up’s success. How will you spread the word about your product and entice potential customers? What will define your brand? You’ll need to pay careful attention to the 4 Ps of marketing: product, price, promotion, and place (distribution). You’ll also need to establish effective sales processes in order to forge relationships with customers and close sales.

- Describe your value proposition and how that will enhance your brand.
- Identify and describe your marketing mix. Justify your reason for your choices.
- List the steps of your sales process.
- Review your planned sales process and determine whether it is high touch or low touch. Explain how the amount of touch in your process makes sense for the solution you are offering.
- Explain how you will align your sales channels to support your sales process and align them with the preferences of your target market. Explain any needed adjustments.
- Estimate costs associated with both your sales process and sales channel.
- Describe any other marketing and sales activities and justify your decisions.
- Create a 1-page mock-up advertisement to market your product or service. This should be your own work with no help from anyone else. If you can sketch well, you may use a hand drawing. Otherwise, use simple digital tools to convey as much about your product or service as possible in one page.
