The policy memo is on the following: Please write to any new york congressman in regards to write my memo for the following reasons; when people come to the United States more than half of these people come with good intentions and good purpose to help the country and themselves. I feel like the USCIS is very harsh and affects these people’s lives that genuinely have good intentions.I want to write about making these immigrants lives easier and what immigrants deal with easier.I know they would not be interested since they do not seem to care.I know somewhat about this topic because my parents themselves are immigrants and the process of everything is so hard and I am first hand dealing with it.There might be some people that care and feel bad but I know they do not care at all. I would like to answer question #2 because I can’t come up with this idea for them and not give them a game plan.I would recommend them the video of taking over the hospital, since it illustrates ideas of achieving a goal and not using violence is a very strong reasoning and the video really helps us understand the ideas that happened and the persuasion techniques that were used in a visual way that can help the USCIS understand.

Pretend this person/group/outlet asks you a question such as:
“You’re taking a class on advocacy, protest, and social movements? I’m really (not) interested in that topic. What have you learned about the role of persuasion in social movements that you think may be helpful for me to know?”
“I see from your resume that you’re taking a class on advocacy and protest in social movements. What have you learned so far about the role of persuasion in social movements that may be relevant to
the advocacy work of our organization?”
“You’re taking the public affairs class on advocacy, protest, and social movements? What would be beneficial for our outlet’s readers to know about the role of persuasion in social movements?”
Write your own question: _____
Take some time to consider what you have learned from the readings so far. What connections do you see between the
different readings? Identify three to four persuasive functions, protest tactics, or advocacy strategies from the reading that seem the most important, interesting, or relevant to you or your audience about the role of persuasion in social change.
Summarize these takeaways in your own words.
Find examples from the readings that illustrate these takeaways.
Use your summaries and examples to write complete paragraphs. Each paragraph should identify a takeaway, explain it in your own words, and illustrate it with quotes from the readings (and their page number).
For each quote:
introduce the quote (where it comes from, who says it, etc) and provide enough contextual information that a reader who hasn’t read the readings can understand it.
Then explain what the quote means and how it illustrates your main point(s) in your own words.
Add transitions at the end of each main point or paragraph that help the reader follow you from one main point to the next.
Write an introduction to the memo that explains the purpose of your memo. What is it about and why/how is it relevant to them?
Summarize in one or two sentences the main points of the body of your memo (your thesis/preview). Add it to the end of your introduction.
Write your conclusion by restating in a few sentences the main points of your memo and why it may be relevant to them or to social movements today.
Read through the whole memo from the perspective of your reader and revise for clarity.
Read through the whole memo out loud and revise sentences that sound awkward.
Format:
a heading block that contains “To,” “From,” “Re” (Subject), and “Date” lines in proper form. In the “To” line, address your memo to your chosen audience, and identify who they are or your relationship to them in parentheses. In the “From” line, include your name, along with your (real or fictional relationship) to them. Identify the topic clearly in the “Re” or “Subject” line.
