Submit a complete first draft of your midterm research essay.
Instructions:
- In a Google Doc, write a research paper applying queer/feminist topics or theories studied in the first half of the course to a musical tradition of your choice.
- Before submitting your essay for instructor feedback, ensure that:
- Your essay is within the 2500-5000 word count. The word limit includes the Works Cited page.
- Your citations are in Chicago Author-Date style. You should cite 5-7 different peer-reviewed sources.
- Your essay is formatted with 12 pt. Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and one-inch margins. Paragraphs should be indented with no skipped space between them.
- You included a Works Cited page with bibliographic information for each citation listed alphabetically.
- Your introduction has a They Say (Link) and I Say (Link)
- Your introduction has a So What and/or a Who Cares (Link)
- You have used spell check and grammar check.
- Before submitting, I recommend taking your essay to the Writing Center. Then, revise your essay with their feedback in mind.
- Share your essay in a Google Doc with your instructor, giving them “commenting” permission. Submit a link to your Google Doc. Do not copy and paste your essay into the text box.
