Using an online tool such as Canva, create an informative brochure that presents information about why the myth you have chosen is inaccurate. You should include the following in the brochure or poster you create:
- A title that presents the myth and your position on the issue.
- 5 Key ideas that parents or others should know about your topic, based on the research (you should have in-text citations). There should be a minimum of 4 empirical references cited.
- Images and visual elements that support your topic
- Provide 3 recommendations for the parent based upon what you have learned in this class, and the research literature. You should reference specific sources that support your recommendation (CITE the literature).
- References (may be included separately). All projects should adhere to 7th ed. APA style guidelines (in-text citations/references/cover page/proper writing conventions, etc). Seek help on this if you are not familiar with APA!

However, they do represent areas where research can be used to guide our understanding of how children actually develop, and may be helpful for people to better understand the nuances about behavior so as to prevent challenges in development socially, emotionally, cognitively, or physically.
In some cases, these myths are held because there is an aspect of truth to them, but the story is actually much larger than the myth suggests. Your job is to uncover the larger picture and let people understand what is actually true, and what isn’t.
