Navigating Power Dynamics: Analyzing Race and Class Issues in Leadership Practice

Below, find the expectations for your final project:

  • Provide an in-depth analysis of a race and/or class issue related to your leadership practice.
  • You must include a statement of the problem or issue being addressed and the context, history, and case details. You must identify key stakeholders or stakeholder groups impacted by the situation. How do different identities factor into this problem?  Who is marginalized, and who has privilege? How does that dynamic play out between stakeholders?
  • Using course sessions, readings, and assignments, provide a diagnosis of the problem. Why do you think what you have identified is a problem?
  • How will you work to solve the problem? What data do you need to offer? Who do you need to enlist?  What approach will you take?  How will you know you are successfully making progress in solving the problem?
I have attached the majority of the readings from the class. This paper will also focus on West Milwaukee Intermediate School. I have attached documents with information from this school. The in-depth analysis of a race issue will be that students of color are disciplined at a higher rate than white students. Also attached is my positioning paper. The research paper should use this positioning paper as the basis of the voice in the research paper.
