ONE chapter from Myths, Lies, and Downright Stupidity, followed by an agree/disagree response

The essay will be a key point summary of ONE chapter from Myths, Lies, and Downright Stupidity, followed by an agree/disagree response. The response should be focused on a single, controversial topic or idea (or alternatively two or more closely related topics or ideas) from the source and should persuasively support a thesis that is related to the conversation surrounding that topic or idea. Students may agree with the original source, disagree, or combine the two. The response should stay tied closely to the original source but focus on and develop the student’s agreement and/or disagreement, based on the student’s own unique experience with the topic.

The Agree/Disagree essay cannot respond to a chapter you have previously written about.
The paper should follow all the guidelines given in the assigned readings on the Schedule. It will be graded on content, format, and correctness.
Length: 3 pages, minimum; 5 pages maximum.
Follow all MLA format rules.
Cite ALL borrowed information with parenthetical in-text citation, and include a separate Works Cited page (which does not count toward the paper’s length).
This paper is NOT research-based, so consulting outside sources is not allowed. The paper should be written based only on the student’s own knowledge, ideas, experiences and opinions.
The only exception to the “no sources” rule is that the student must include direct references to the work being summarized and responded to, which includes sources the work itself refers to.
