Overview
The final project for this course is the creation of an organizational analysis and design plan for an organizational concern or behavioral challenge that is critical to you or your organization. Imagine that you are the person with the power to make changes in the organization and are making the presentation to the executive board. Put in as much effort as needed to make an impact in your organization.
Use the knowledge obtained in this course and previous work to explore new contexts to inspire change. Include topics discussed throughout this course.
Main Elements
Create an organizational analysis and design plan for your chosen organization. The final project should contain all of the main elements detailed below. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. Include the research provided in your annotated bibliography.
Your final paper will have these main elements:
- Title Page: Include a title page that includes the company name, student’s name, course name and number, instructor’s name, and date.
- Abstract: Write a brief abstract that summarizes the topic of the project.
- Introduction: Introduce the company, including the ethical dilemma.
- Background: Provide a company profile and history of the related issue.
- Identification of the Ethical Dilemma: Highlight key points of the case, including challenges and dilemmas.
- Define the organizational context from a management perspective
- Define the organizational context from a leadership perspective
- Analysis: Provide an analysis that defines the problems and discusses both the leader’s and the company’s strategies.
- Recommendation: Offer alternative solutions via a plan of action and include your role moving forward.
- Action Plan: Create an action plan with respective theories in ethics and leadership.
- Identify the action that needs to be taken. Make sure these are tangible actions and not pure theory.
- Identify the ethical considerations. See if you can get your management to help with implementation.
- Create a timeline that includes both short-term and long-term items including resources required.
- Identify the measurements that include how you will establish return on investment, return on people, and organizational health such as retention and absenteeism.
- Reference Page: Create a reference page with a minimum of three scholarly resources from the library and from within the last 10 years.
- Appendix: Provide any interview notes that were used in your research.
Format
Milestone One: Problem Definition
In Module One, you will submit a concise but specific description of a behavioral challenge in your organization. This challenge will be used throughout your project. This submission will be graded using the Milestone One Rubric.
Milestone Two: Values Exploration
In Module Three, you will explore the challenge from a stakeholder values perspective. This submission will be graded using the Milestone Two Rubric.
Milestone Three: Designing Empowerment
In Module Seven, you will explore the challenge from an empowerment perspective. This submission will be graded using the Milestone Three Rubric.
Milestone Four: Annotated Bibliography
In Module Eight, you will finalize the design for your final paper with annotated research support. This submission will be graded using the Milestone Four Rubric.
Final Project: Organizational Analysis and Design Plan
In Module Nine, you will submit your organizational analysis and design plan. It should be a complete, polished artifact containing all of the main elements of the final product. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. This submission will be graded using the Final Project Rubric.
What to Submit
Written components of projects must follow these formatting guidelines when applicable: 8–10 pages, double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and discipline-appropriate citations.
