You were assigned a lecture this week from a forum sponsored by the Harvard Institute of Politics titled, “Behavior, Genetics and the Criminal Justice System.” Using this video, identify two direct quotes from this video that particularly struck you. Include both full quotes in this response (no timestamp necessary). For each of these quotes, address the following questions: 

  1. What about this quote struck you? Why do you think this quote is important?
  2. Connect each quote with one other piece of reading or viewing from this module. How do you connect these two elements together? Why or how are they ‘speaking’ to one another (metaphorically) and what are each of them saying?
  3. In all of the examples that you have given for this response, how are you seeing discourse about genetics and race at play in systems and institutions (i.e. the criminal justice system, the legal system, genetic databases, etc.)? How can we see power being enacted in these discourses?
