Assignment – Wolf Moose interaction

This
assignment will help students learn the skill of interpreting graphs by
using an example from ecology (wolf, moose and tree study). 
It is best if students print the attached assignment. Use
a ruler and pencil to draw straight lines so that your readings on
number of wolves, moose and diameter of trees is accurate.
Drawing lines without ruler or slanted/tilted lines will give inaccurate results. 
Grading
in this assignment is based on accuracy of data and valid
interpretation. Students must upload the entire document with response.
Student may print the document, fill in answers with pen and upload
image or can type in response and then upload the document.

Excel Introduction and Practice (Work 1)

1. Listen and review with the following Excel video: Excel Intro and Practice

(*After watching the video and practicing on your own, you will then work in your textbook to set up a payroll sheet)

2. Practice Excel in the Discovering MSOffice Textbook Pages E1-E18.  Save Work1 from the textbook practice and submit “Work1 (attach your .xlsx file first).  Make sure your name is in the worksheet..

3. Terms in Excel:

1. Workbook-file

2. Worksheet-spreadsheet/ computerized grid made up of columns and rows

3. Cell– intersection between column and row (columns are up and down, rows go across)

4. Range-cells that are adjacent to one another

5. Cell Address/Reference– label or address of cell (Ex. C5)

6. 3 entries in a cell: Text, Values, and Formulas

7. Relative cell reference (ex. C5) vs. Absolute cell reference ($C$5) (Absolute remains as a constant cell)

8. Formulas always begin with = 

9.=A1+A2 (example of a formula to add 2 cells or cell contents)

10.=sum(A1:A2) (example of a built-in formula to add)
