Part 1 – Create Learning Activities that Achieve Learning
Outcomes from the new Alberta Curriculum:
Choose three (3) different subjects from the new Alberta
Curriculum and complete the following for each:
- Select
three (3) grade levels between kindergarten and grade 6. The subjects must
be different, but the grade level may be the same, or different for each
subject. - For
each subject, choose one Learning Outcome and any three related statements
from Knowledge, Understanding, and/or Skills and Procedures (KUSPs) found
in the new Alberta curriculum. - Choose
an active learning strategy from those listed below that will achieve each
learning outcome and associated KUSPs. You must use a different strategy
for each subject. - For
each subject, create and write a step-by-step plan for implementing the
learning activity. It should be organized and clearly written so that any
teacher could read it and know how to conduct the activity as part of a
lesson plan.
Part 2 – Evidence of Learning:
Choose one (1) of your learning activities, and respond to
the following questions (approximately 50-150 words per question):
- How
does the learning activity fit with the Organizing Idea, Guiding Question
and Learning Outcome from the new Alberta Curriculum? - What
might be done to include all learners and support their diverse learning
needs? - How
will you assess student learning?
