In this final speech, you will apply all of the concepts you have learned so far in this course. Your goal is to persuade your classmates to donate and/or volunteer for a non-profit organization or charity of your choice. To help you get started, consider the following questions.
- What is an important issue or problem in your community that must be addressed?
- What is something you are passionate about and would like to share with others?
- What is something you believe needs to be changed to make this world a better place?
Please do your due diligence and make sure the non-profit organization you choose is legitimate. In order to make this process easier, I suggest using the following resources to check the legitimacy of non-profit organizations.
- Charity Navigator (https://www.charitynavigator.org/Links to an external site.)
- GuideStar (https://www.guidestar.org/Links to an external site.)
- Charity Watch (https://www.charitywatch.org/Links to an external site.)
A new challenge for this speech is that you must host a Q&A session at the end of your speech and answer a minimum of two questions from the audience. Being able to answer questions is a great skill that demonstrates your confidence and expertise on the topic.
