Write a Policy Memo based upon the specific topic you
selected from the CQ Researcher to write your Describing Policy Problems
Assignment
on in Module 3: Week 3.

The intended audience for the Policy Memo Assignment
is a senator from your state. For purposes of this assignment, pretend that
this senator has requested information on the topic as this senator leads the
relevant committee that can implement the change.  

Keep in mind that the Policy Brief approached the
topic from a federal perspective. This Policy Memo should approach the topic
from a state perspective.

Your Policy Memo should include the following 7 sections:

·       Title Page

o  
The
title page should be formatted using current APA format. 

·       Address

o  
The
Policy Memo will be written to a pretend senator from your state. Accordingly,
provide a memo style heading at the top of your Policy Memo.

The
Executive Summary should begin on the same page as the Address section.

·       Executive Summary

o  
Provide
an Executive Summary that is 150–200 words. Similar to an Abstract written for
academic research papers, the Executive Summary concisely states the purpose of
the memo and your recommended policy solution. The Executive Summary should be
positioned between the title page and the Background of the Policy Memo.

o  
As
the Executive Summary reflects material contained within the body of the memo,
use citations where appropriate.

·       Background

o  
Provide
the legislative history of your topic. Enough information should be provided to
give the audience a summary of the current issues, the historical context of
the problem, and any additional background information needed to fully
comprehend the issue.

 

·       Analysis

o  
Provide
a full analysis of the law and policy issue. Explain how the issue can lead to
the proposed recommendations.

·       Conclusions and
recommendations

o  
Provide
your recommendations on how to resolve the issue. Explain any potential
implications that your recommendations may have. If applicable, explain which
of these recommendations is preferred.

·       Reference Page

o  
The
reference page should be formatted using current APA format. The required number
of citations appears below.

In addition to providing those 7 sections, the
following format for assignment should be used:

·       Length of
assignment: 13-15 double-spaced pages of content

o  
The
title page and reference page are excluded from the page count.

o  
An
abstract should not be submitted for this assignment.

·       Format of
assignment: APA 

·       Number of citations:
At least 1 citation to Scripture and at least 10 citations from outside
academic resources, including at least 1 citation from the CQ Researcher. At
least 5 of the outside academic resources and at least 1 citation to Scripture
should be different from the resources used in the Policy Brief Assignment.

·       Acceptable sources:
Scripture, class readings, class presentations, government documents, academic
resources, and scholarly articles published within the last five years

This assignment is worth 200 points and I need all 200 of them or at least close to it. My professor grades really hard not sure why.
