Topic: Political
Economic Corruption (PEC) and its impact on national and global economic
development
Points to cover:
- Present
a review of the types of corruption and its ranking as seen in the
Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index. What countries
are healthy and who are not? Why? Transparency International. (2024). Here
is the link to Transparency International - Select
two countries from the Index and, through a researched comparison, analyze
what historically has caused the level of corruption in the nation. (What
national political and economic environments make corruption a big
problem, and what do not.) - How
does national corruption affect the global economic community? - How do
international institutions interface with economic corruption? - In
making your recommendations/solutions, give a clear idea of what would
work for a country nationally AND how other countries may react. (Rely on
your understanding of the most used Political Theories to suggest how
another country may respond to international policymaking on corruption
and growth (Dependency Theory, Liberalist, realist, and Constructivist).
