ORGANIZATION OF PAPER
This module’s Portfolio
Project will have the following chapter:
• Chapter 1- Local
Emergency Response Capacity
o Who is the Emergency
Response Coordinator/Manager for your municipality? Is
their role a paid or
volunteer position? Do they have an Emergency Response
Team?
o Do they have an
Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and are they willing to let
you visit this?
o What are some local
public-sector entities the Emergency Response Team
engages with in an
emergency (police, fire departments, etc.)?
o Do they have an
Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and will they share this with
you? What types of
training or simulations do they regularly perform?
o What have been some
local emergencies the team has responded to? In your
unique context, what are
some reoccurring emergencies (IE: blizzards in Buffalo
or hurricanes in south
Florida)?
o Does the Emergency
Response Team pre-position any emergency materials?
o How does the Emergency
Response Team interface with the private or non-profit
sector?
o How is the Emergency
Response Team connected to the local church? Can they
share any churches that
have regularly been involved with an emergency
response? In what ways
would the Emergency Response Team like to see the
church more involved?
o What are some ways your
local actors have affirmed the dignity of those they are
serving? Do they have any
training and policies designed to protect the person
they are serving?
o What are some ways you
or your local church could be more involved?
