Write a 4-5 page paper on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the various healthcare organizations and how Health Information Technology played a role in their processes during the pandemic and post-PHE..
This may seem like an opinion paper, but I want objective findings shared and your logistical view on how things affect healthcare from a financial and operational aspect.
The most important part I want referenced in this research paper is the ending of the current PHE which was announced by the White House. You will be tasked with the responsibility of communicating that date and how the government and organizations in Healthcare will move forward after the PHE. Things to consider:
- Current PHE waivers and when the temporary waivers will terminate
- Reimbursement rates and how they have changed
- Vaccine coverage as a whole of the US population
Targets/Topics the research paper should cover:
- Billing Compliance – e.g. CPT/ICD-10CM codes/Documentation/Virtual Forums that are HIPAA compliant
- Revenue – how was COVID-19 PHE affected revenue and reimbursement
- Logistics – vaccine production and implementation along with the delivery and reporting to healthcare insurance companies
- Politics and the resulting bills written into law – focus on CMS and the laws each of the states passed as a result of the pandemic, i.e. Medicaid
- Etc… Make this paper YOURS! There is plenty of data out there, dig folks
- If you are going to use graphics/clip art/photos, it does not count towards the page requirement
Cite all your sources using APA format and produce a Works Cited pages to conclude the research paper
