CASE PRESENTATION RUBRIC:
Students are asked to prepare a scholarly presentation to be provided to
peers and
faculty. These are the criteria for the power point case presentation:
1.
Provide an introduction to
the case, why it has been selected, and any key issues
that will be presented. (10 pts.)
2.
Present the case
comprehensively, being sure to include: (20
pts.)
a.
Physical, psychological,
social, developmental/family needs
b.
HPI( history of present illness
c.
PMH( past medical history), FH,( family history) SH( social history)
d.
H&P( history and physical
e.
Differential diagnoses
f.
Initial management plan
including any diagnostic testing or referrals to specialty providers
3.
Address the treatment
goals and identify projected outcomes and how they will be
measured. (10 pts.)
5.
Review and analyze the
current research pertinent to the case and relate to the
management plan. (20 pts.)
6.
Provide the confirmed
diagnosis, any modifications made in the management plan
including
recommendations for further evaluation. (10 pts.)
7.
Describe cost implications
for the management plan. (10
pts.)
8.
Summarize the significance
of the case to the APN role. (10
pts.)
9.
Overall presentation
quality and subsequent discussion including presentation of 5 relevant
certification examination questions. (10
pts.)
Patient and
diagnosis in any of the SOAP notes cannot be the same as Case Study
Presentation.
