“praxis?” What is it? Why is it important for the study of crime and criminal justice? How does it relate to theory, practice, and policy? Why is it a central concept when considering social justice?

Throughout the semester, students are asked to complete “demo” essays. The purpose of these assignments is to demonstrate comprehension of assigned content, capacity to discuss and navigate key points within lesson plans, and ability to critically apply course material to real-world examples. These serve as “checks-on-learning” that assess progression toward learning outcomes during specified periods of instruction. Given this, students must draw from, discuss, and apply respective lesson plan material to provided prompts. Submitted work must include citation and reference to the lesson plan materials being used.

For this demo essay, please provide a response to the following prompt: Lesson material has often turned back to and referenced the idea of “praxis?” What is it? Why is it important for the study of crime and criminal justice? How does it relate to theory, practice, and policy? Why is it a central concept when considering social justice?
Demo essays should be approximately 500-700 words in length (approximately 2 double-spaced pages), not including front end material or referencing. Further, all work must be in APA formatting, typed with 12-point Times New Roman font, and double spaced. As always, your work should be well-structured, comprehensive in nature, include citations/proper referencing, and free of major spelling/grammatical issues.
MUST USE SOURCE book “DIVERSITY, OPPRESSION, and CHANGE” attached file of the name of book.
