Then, researching primary evidence from official data sources accessible online (and other sources as applicable), identify at least three current (i.e. last 24 months) peace-keeping and crime problems and trends and policing challenges in that suburb or police district. [Peace-keeping and crime control are discussed in Topic 2 – topic 2 notes will be provided]

You must identify what you consider to be the most serious and challenging policing problem in the area that you have selected, presenting primary official data illustrating why the issue is a relevant policing problem. You must explain why the prioritized problem is more serious than the other two problems also identified. [Examples of primary official data statistics, police force annual reports.]
-
Make recommendations for a policing solution, or solutions, to address the problem that you have prioritized, and provide supporting evidence from primary and/or secondary sources to explain why the actions you propose will address the problem you have prioritized.
-
Identify the vulnerable communities/groups in the area you are researching and explain how the recommended solution(s) will be implemented so as to avoid unfairly discriminating against these vulnerable groups in the community, and further disadvantaging them.
