Read this article (OR ANY OTHER ARTICLE OF YOUR CHOICE) and answer the following questions:
- What research topic(s) or research questions is this paper addressing?

- What were the mechanics of data collection?
- Was the data coded? What process was used to analyze the data? Contrast that process with just using one’s impressions and writing up the results.
- What were the results? How were these results presented?

- Did the author use the method appropriately? Was the method an appropriate method to begin with?
- What could the author have done differently in respect to qualitative research etc. if you were the researcher, what would you have done differently.

5-page analytic paper assignment. For this assignment you are required to identity a research article that used qualitative research. The article can be on any topic. You must then critically analyze the article based on your own reading and based on what we have been discussing in our classes thus far on qualitative research. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the article, critically analyze the author’s use of qualitative method. Did the author use the method appropriately? Was the method an appropriate method to begin with? What could the author have done differently in respect to qualitative research etc. if you were the researcher, what would you have done differently. What is an alternative qualitative methodology that could have been used to study the same or similar topic/issue?
Take your time, don’t be anxious about it. Just do your best! Don’t worry if you do not hit the 5-page mark, just focus on the quality of your critique.
