Reactivation of walnut shell media filter by chemical backwash to remove accumulation of oil hydrocarbons
Walnut shell filter is used to remove oil content in water in produced water treatment.
It become saturated after time and requires Backwash by filtered water, however water back wash is not effective to remove the accumulation of oil hydrocarbons after saturated period.
It requires chemical back wash for reactivation of the walnut shell filter.
Analysis the Effective of Tween 80 surfactant on it and suggest othrr chemical can be used without damaging the walnut shell media with results .
And consider that this chemical is not corrosive to inner components of the media (epoxy polyamine coating, carbon coating, stainless steel and so on).
