Students will use these journals to reflect on the reading, make connections between the concepts and current events, and to prepare for the midterm and final essays.
The journals are expected to be 2- 3 pages long, and may be in any format that best facilitates your learning (i.e., outline, narrative, visuals).
To receive full credit for the reading journal, students must include three (3) ‘take aways’ from the chapter- new pieces of information, new perspectives, new understanding, etc.
AND
Students must identify a recent (within two years) news story and discuss how it relates to the content of the chapter
